Allied World, a global provider of insurance and reinsurance solutions, has welcomed Arné Booysen to its Australia team as the new AVP underwriting manager for professional lines, effective February 2022.
Booysen started his insurance career at Aon, where he developed a wealth of experience in professional indemnity. He eventually moved to London Australia Underwriting, where he spent 13 years specialising in directors' and officers' liability (D&O), professional indemnity (PI), IT, and cyber insurance – working with engineers, architects, mining consultants, management consultants, public relations consultants, accountants, and IT consultants.
As part of Allied World's professional lines team, Booysen will meet up with clients and brokers to learn about the new challenges they are facing. He will also reinforce and expand the company's current PI offering, focusing on corporate and mid-market construction and miscellaneous type firms (both primary and excess), excess lawyers, architects, and technology firms.
Since joining Allied World last month, Booysen has been focusing on refreshing the primary wording suit of the company's products and enhancing the diversity of distribution in the mid-market space, including expanding the company's footprint outside of New South Wales (NSW).
Commenting on his appointment, Booysen said he looks forward to supporting clients as he focuses on underwriting for professional lines.
