Allianz Australia has officially moved its workers' compensation team of more than 20 people to a new WorkSafe building in Malop Street, Geelong.
Helen Silver, chief general manager of workers' compensation at Allianz, said the move to colocate with WorkSafe Victoria strengthens its strategic partnership with the statutory authority and confirms its commitment to industry partners and the people of the Geelong region.
“Allianz has a long history of collaboration with WorkSafe Victoria,” Silver said. “It is a key component of our national workers' compensation service and we are pleased to continue to grow that partnership and to provide support to Geelong employers and workers.”
Silver said the insurer has a strong heritage in Geelong, with its workers' compensation division having a presence locally for more than 25 years.
“One of only three agents in the region, Allianz Australia has long-standing relationships with some of the largest employees in Geelong, including Barwon Health for the past 11 years, and St John of God Hospital and Godfrey Hirst, both relationships we have had for 20 years,” she said.
Silver said by being part of the growing social innovation hub in Geelong and collaborating with others in the industry, the workers’ compensation team will be able to “improve services and provide the best outcomes for workers,” as well as “contribute further to the growth here in Geelong.”
