With Christmas only a few sleeps away, Melbourne gets busy for a different, less cheery task – cleaning up the damages wrought by this week's fierce storm.
Despite the significant impact of the severe storms, which saw many suburbs smashed by strong winds, heavy rain, flash flooding, and golf ball-sized hail,
Allianz Australia assured customers that its claims personnel are available and well prepared to help.
“We have deployed additional staff from around the country to help with increased call volumes and claims enquiries,” said Matt Wood, Allianz's general manager for customer and partner services. “Our assessors are already on the ground helping customers and we are establishing our hail assessment centres, where customers can go to have their car assessed. We have also activated our automated callback system, so customers have the option of a call back from the next available claims consultant.”
Wood also asked customers who are experiencing difficulties to be more patient.
“We understand that customers will be concerned, especially with Christmas just around the corner,” he said. “I want to reassure the community that we here to help and will continue to work around the clock to help people get back in their homes and on the road again.”
Customers that have storm damage can contact Allianz on 13 10 13, or lodge their claim online at http://www.allianzclaims.com.au.
