Allianz Australia, in partnership with Deakin University, is seeking to revolutionise the way injured workers interact with and understand the claims process with an industry-first voice-controlled application.

Allianz is piloting the new digital assistant, Claims Companion by Genie, to a cohort of workers’ compensation claimants within Allianz Australia’s clients, including Sydney Water, the NSW Department of Finance, Services, and Innovation and TAFE NSW for three months, starting June 24.

The digital assistant has voice recognition and user-friendly interface that brings together various aspects of the claims/recovery process into one application, helping users to understand what treatment is available to them, how they receive payments, as well as understand workers’ compensation terminology. It is also supported by machine learning, which enables it to continually learn and become more intuitive as more workers access the application.

“The Claims Companion by Genie is an important, easily accessible tool that puts workers in control of their recovery whilst also providing them with the right level of support, care, and motivation as they navigate what can be a complicated claims process,” said Mark Pittman, general manager of government services at Allianz.

“The digital assistant aims to simplify the claims process by bringing together many information sources into one interface and at the same time, motivate people in their recovery journey by ensuring they get the most from the support services available to them.”

The Claims Companion by Genie is available to eligible workers via iOS and Android app stores now.
