Supermarket giant ALDI Australia has confirmed it will not be entering the online shopping market anytime soon, instead shifting its focus towards expanding its insurance services amid rising living costs.

For several years, customers have speculated about whether the discount supermarket chain would offer an online shopping option to compete with other retailers. However, an ALDI Australia spokesperson told FEMAIL that the company's current priority is maintaining its core services.

"While we are always looking at the best ways to serve our customers, right now we are focused on delivering value and the lowest prices possible at a time our customers need it most. We won't compromise our ability to deliver low-priced groceries to Australians,” the spokesperson said.

Customers can still access ALDI’s “Special Buys” and deals via the company's website, but online delivery remains unavailable.

In response to the rising cost of living, ALDI introduced a new service last June—unrelated to its supermarket offerings. ALDI Insurance now provides home and contents, comprehensive car, and landlord insurance policies.

ALDI Insurance promises competitive pricing for both new and existing policyholders with monthly payments at no extra charge and round-the-clock claims assistance. Additional benefits include car hire after theft, smart sensors for the home, and emergency repair coverages.
