The Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) has appointed a former Allianz staff to a newly created role.
Anna Campbell, former acting general counsel at Allianz, joins AFCA as general counsel. She was most recently general manager of enterprise compliance at the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), where she was responsible for the ASX Group's regulatory assurance function, as well as its governance arrangements. She also previously held the role of deputy general counsel at the ASX for nine years.
David Locke, AFCA CEO and chief ombudsman, welcomed Campbell’s appointment to a “pivotal role for AFCA.”
Campbell’s “cross-sector and regulatory experience, along with her knowledge of the financial services sector means she is exceptionally well placed to provide expert advice on complex legal matters, corporate governance and risk management to AFCA. AFCA will benefit greatly from her skills and experience and I am delighted that she has chosen to join us.”
Locke said that with a new senior executive team in place, AFCA is now “very well placed” to deliver on its goal to “provide a world-class ombudsman service and consistently provide fair outcomes” to its members and consumers.
