The Actuaries Institute is hosting a three-day seminar to tackle the ongoing transformation across the different injury and disability schemes in the country.
The institute’s Injury & Disability Schemes Seminar is being held at the Sofitel Brisbane from November 12-14, and will bring together actuaries, scheme administrators, regulators, researchers, injury and disability specialists, and service providers throughout Australasia.
The 2017 event, themed
“Change, Challenge, Opportunity,” discusses the wide-ranging reforms across various schemes and topics such as measuring health and social outcomes, the participant experience, and the role of big data.
Norman Swan, doctor, TV host, and co-founder of the integrated health television channel, Tonic Health Media, will facilitate the seminar. Also gracing the event are industry experts, including David Bowen, inaugural CEO of the National Disability Insurance Agency; EML CEO Mark Coyne; WorkSafe Victoria CEO Clare Amies; Kim Birch, chief executive of SA’s inaugural CTP Insurance Regulator; Tim Clark, EGM, commercial in the Australian consumer division at
IAG; and icare’s John Nagle, Chris Colquhoun, and Eugene McGarrell.
