A dedicated agricultural insurance company has organised an event in regional Victoria next week that will educate farmers on on-farm liability risks and strategies to mitigate those risks.
The event will be held on May 24 in Shepparton Rabobank Branch and will feature John Van de Poll, a Sydney litigation expert and partner at Holman Webb Lawyers.
Kieran Kelly, a risk specialist at Achmea Australia and organiser of the Shepparton-based event, said the free presentation offers attendees a rare opportunity to hear first-hand from an insurance law specialist.
“John has over 20 years’ experience as a litigator specialising in all areas of insurance and has managed a significant number of large litigation matters,” Kelly said.
“He is also a very engaging and personable speaker, and I am sure attendees will walk away with a good understanding of their obligations following his presentation.”
Kelly added: “John was awarded
Law Partner of the Year: Insurance in The Lawyers Weekly Awards in 2016 and was included in
Best Lawyers 2017 (Insurance), so it is a real coup to have someone with his expertise visiting the area.
“He is a very well respected and experienced litigator and I believe all attendees will leave with some practical ideas for developing their own strategy for mitigating risks on-farm.”
