Remember when Youi announced it was giving policyholders who use their cars less frequently, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, temporary relief on their premiums? The general insurer said the initiative, which was rolled out in April, has now supported over a quarter of a million car insurance customers.
In fact, the cashback campaign has been so successful that Youi decided to extend the “warmly received” programme not only for a further three months, but also to its home insurance clientele.
“During times of crisis is when customers look to their insurer for support,” said Youi chief executive Hugo Schreuder, “and I’m proud to have demonstrated that not only do we listen to them, but we truly care.
“Because people are driving less and spending more time at home, there are less motor vehicle accidents and home-related thefts, so the right thing to do is pass our savings on to our customers.”
Available until the end of September, unless renewed by Youi, the premium relief packages provide a 10% refund for eligible customers (both new and existing) holding car, building, building & contents, or contents-only insurance policies.
