Norton Rose Fulbright has announced that its Australian chair, Tricia Hobson, will also become its global chair starting January – making her the first female partner to take on the global role.
As new global chair, Hobson, a Sydney-based litigation partner and class-action lawyer in the insurance industry, will be in charge of fostering the firm's cross-border collaboration, innovation, and client relationship development, as well as promoting global diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Hobson will serve the ambassadorial leadership role for a one-year term, replacing Stephen Parish, whose term will end on Dec. 31. Parish continues as chair of Norton Rose Fulbright in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
“The appointment of Tricia Hobson to the role of global chair for Norton Rose Fulbright demonstrates the importance of the Asia Pacific region to the development of our global business,” said Peter Martyr, global chief executive at Norton Rose Fulbright. “Tricia’s knowledge and extensive experience of working within the global insurance industry will be invaluable as we look to grow our practice.”
Martyr also thanked Parish “for his significant contribution to the continued well-being of our global business.”
“I am honoured to be the first female partner appointed to the global chair role,” Hobson said. “I look forward to working with my talented colleagues around the world to ensure our clients receive the highest quality advice, wherever they may be located.”
