Insurance brokerage Gallagher has confirmed its latest senior appointment this week with an industry veteran set to join the team in early July.
Roz Shaw – formerly the head of Hawkins Road Transport – was named as the newest addition and will serve as Gallagher’s national head of transport.
“Gallagher recognises the transport sector is a unique space with its own distinct risks and complexities,” said Shaw, whose career spans almost four decades.
“Through knowledge of the industry and engagement with transport operators and stakeholders, I believe Gallagher provides a unique offering that creates real value for clients,” she added.
As well as serving as the CEO of Hawkins since 1981, Shaw has also been an active voice in the industry, lobbying for change in her former role as VP of the Queensland Transport Association. Shaw is also a past winner of the Trucking Industry Woman of the Year Award and was a finalist in the 2012 Telstra Queensland Business Woman of the Year Awards.
“Attracting someone of Roz’s standing is a terrific win for Gallagher, and a great fit for our team of specialist transport advisors who have more than three decades’ experience in the Australian market,” said Paul Harvey, divisional managing director at Gallagher.
“I am confident with Roz on board we can bring fresh thinking to the conversation with clients, the industry and the local business communities who depend on the transportation of goods for their livelihood,” he added.
