Leadership at Oracle Group
Steve Campbell – Group Executive Chairman
“Experience, problem-solving, and a detached perspective to see the bigger picture” are the attributes that make Campbell a “great chairman, and an ideal mentor and guide” to Oracle Group’s dynamic executive team. He followed his father’s footsteps into insurance broking, drawn to the profession by the diversity of clients and their businesses.
For anyone entering the insurance broking business, Campbell has this piece of advice: “No matter how much there is in common, there are always unique aspects to how they work and the people that run them. That is what a broker needs to understand. Otherwise, how can you advise? By the time you have done a detailed risk analysis, you’ll know everything about the business. How it operates, its finances, its people, and its future direction.”
Matthew J. Denehy – Group Managing Director
Denehy joined friend and current chairman Steve Campbell at Oracle Group, where he was instrumental in helping the company grow from having written $13 million in premiums to over $100 million in a span of five years. He has held the role of group managing director since 2019.
Denehy has been working in the insurance industry since he was 16. He started his own business at 27 and in over 15 years, took the family broking business from being a startup to having written $15 million in premiums in 2015.
Culture at Oracle Group
From the beginning, Oracle Group’s vision has been to create a genuine national broker network with individual state-based support and representation, national strength, and local presence to support clients and ARs at ground level. The firm’s job is to give its ARs the best tools and support so they can excel and provide the best service possible to their clients.
In addition, Oracle Group distinguishes itself from the competition with a strong compliance ethos, a spirit of independence, extensive support resources and services, a steadfast membership, and a great product range.
Over the years, the company has developed strong guiding principles that underpin its business. The firm believes in encouraging teamwork between staff and with clients; maintaining excellent relationships, both in life and in business; acting ethically and transparently; developing and using their knowledge in the service of their clients; and being absolutely committed to delivering results for their clients.
In essence, the Oracle Group Australia team always works with their clients and brokers in mind, creating a culture that is embedded into their brand promise: “In your best interests, always.”
