Gallagher Bassett Services provides risk and claims management solutions to more than 4,800 businesses in over 60 countries. It is a subsidiary of global insurance brokerage and risk management consultancy Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.
The firm was established in 1962 by Jim Gallagher and Sterling Bassett, with the goal of helping insurers and brokers “focus on what they do best” such as assessing risks and helping claimants to have their injuries and issues addressed faster and more efficiently.

Leadership at Gallagher Bassett
Scott R. Hudson – President & Chief Executive Officer
Hudson was named president and CEO of Gallagher Bassett in 2010, the year he joined the company. He boasts almost three decades of experience as a business consultant in the insurance and financial services sectors.
Hudson started his consulting career with Andersen Consulting, presently known as Accenture. He later held key leadership roles at several global consulting firms, including Information Consulting Group, McKinsey & Co., and Renaissance Worldwide. Prior to joining Gallagher Bassett, Hudson served as insurance practice director for Bridge Strategy Group.
Hudson is a Certified Public Accountant. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Iowa State University.
Culture at Gallagher Bassett
Gallagher Bassett is also committed to helping the communities where its people live and work.
Among the beneficiaries of the company’s charitable endeavors is Give Kids The World Village. This is a 79-acre, nonprofit resort in Central Florida that provides weeklong, cost-free vacations to children with life-threatening illnesses and their families.
For the past several years, Gallagher Bassett employees have set aside an annual day of service for the charitable institution.
Gentle Bear
GB Gentle Bear serves as Gallagher Bassett’s ambassador of care and compassion. The cuddly emissary started as a tool that the South Australia Police gives children who are victims of trauma to help them cope with their experience.
Since then, Gentle Bear’s loving presence has brought comfort and companionship to people across the globe who are facing adversity.
