HDI Global SE has appointed Brandt Connor (pictured) as head of distribution for New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory as part of its ongoing efforts to expand its broker network and enhance client engagement in the region.
Connor, who will be based in Sydney, will oversee distribution activities, working closely with HDI Global SE’s market management and underwriting teams. His role will focus on strengthening relationships with brokers and ensuring access to the company’s range of insurance solutions.
Connor brings more than 12 years of industry experience, previously serving as national relationship manager at a global insurance provider.
Stephen Jones, head of state management, Australia, said Connor’s background in market management and client service aligns with the company’s broader strategy for the region.
“Brandt brings with him a sound understanding of the insurance market and a passion for service delivery and teamwork. We are delighted to have him as a part of our growing team,” he said.
Karina Rodriguez Diaz, head of market management, Australasia, said that Connor’s appointment would help HDI Global SE enhance its engagement with brokers in NSW and ACT.
“The appointment of Brandt to this new role adds further depth of expertise and experience to our market management team,” she said.
In addition to the leadership change in NSW and ACT, HDI Global SE recently appointed Rebekah Ashby as senior underwriter, motor, in South Australia.
The move is part of the insurer’s efforts to expand its motor fleet underwriting portfolio and strengthen its broker relationships in the region.
Based in Adelaide, Ashby leads the company’s motor underwriting operations in South Australia, focusing on fleet segments including transport, construction, mining, and light commercial vehicles.
She has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry and joins HDI Global SE as it expands its underwriting capabilities in the region, which now include motor, property, and liability products.
Khoder Chehade, motor underwriting manager for Australasia, said Ashby’s expertise and industry connections would help drive the company’s motor insurance growth in South Australia.
“Respected amongst her peers in the underwriting community, Rebekah will assume responsibility for the newly established South Australian motor portfolio where we can expect sustainable growth in the South Australian market,” he said.
