Willis Re has announced a new president for its business in Asia Pacific following a pair of executive changes.
Michael Harden, CEO of Willis Re Bermuda since 2014, will return to the Asia Pacific market as president of the business having chaired Willis Re Australia prior to his stint in Bermuda.
Chris McDowell has been announced as Harden’s replacement in the Bermuda role.
Harden, who has more than 40 years’ experience in the P&C reinsurance industry, will help boost the growth aims of the business in the region according to John Cavanagh, global CEO of Willis Re.
“Mike has developed a strong team and a solid foundation for continued growth, fully aligned to Willis Re’s global office network,” Cavanagh said.
“His return to Asia Pacific to support our existing leadership team will likewise further our growth activities and the delivery of Willis Re’s global offering to clients as these markets continue to build momentum.”
Maurice Williams, managing director of Willis Re’s APMETA region, said that Harden’s experience will boost the Asia Pac practice.
“Mike has extensive experience in the Asia Pacific region and brings a breadth of knowledge from across Willis Re to serve the rapidly evolving risk and capital needs of our clients,” Williams said.
