Prudential Hong Kong has strengthened its partnership with Hong Kong Baptist Hospital (HKBH) by extending its medical expenses direct billing service to the HKBH East Kowloon Medical Centre (EKMC).
Starting March 31, 2025, the collaboration will provide Prudential's customers with direct billing options for ophthalmology treatments at EKMC.
The EKMC, which began operations on December 30, 2024, is the first full-block ambulatory medical centre in East Kowloon. It provides outpatient services, including ophthalmology, orthopaedics, and ear, nose, and throat care.
Prudential customers will benefit from priority scheduling for medical consultations at EKMC, reducing waiting times.
"We are delighted to deepen our partnership with Hong Kong Baptist Hospital to extend Prudential's Medical Expenses Direct Billing Service to even more individuals," Candy Au Yeung, chief customer operations and health officer at Prudential Hong Kong Limited, said in a press release.
According to Prudential's 2024 H1 Individual Life Claims Report, as of June 2024, nearly half (42%) of the claims processed through Prudential’s medical expenses direct billing service were for day surgeries.
"With the opening of more specialist outpatient clinics, Prudential is poised to expand its service offerings across a broader spectrum of specialties, meeting the growing demand for quality healthcare," Yeung added.
Grace Wong, Director of Administration and Planning at HKBH, noted, "This partnership reflects our commitment to enhancing patient experience and advancing a patient-centric healthcare model."
