Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) has announced leadership changes effective April 1, 2025.

Encik Aznan bin Abdul Aziz will assume the role of Deputy Governor, overseeing the supervision and regulation sector. He will also serve on several key committees, including the Monetary Policy Committee and Financial Stability Committee.

Aznan, an economics and accounting graduate from the University of Bristol, currently serves as the chairman of the board audit committee of the International Islamic Liquidity Management Corporation and holds positions in several other financial and regulatory bodies.

BNM is also marking the retirement of Datuk Jessica Chew Cheng Lian. She will remain on the board as a technical adviser for matters related to financial stability.

BNM Governor Dato’ Seri Abdul Rasheed Ghaffour praised her work and thanked her by saying, "Datuk Jessica has been a continuous source of wisdom and support over the last 34 years in achieving BNM’s strategic mandates and organisational excellence."

Additionally, Puan Cindy Siah Hooi Hoon has been appointed as Assistant Governor, responsible for overseeing several critical departments, including Financial Conglomerates Supervision and Payment Services Oversight.

Puan Cindy holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Warwick and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
