Crawford & Company has announced the appointment of Scott Reichelt as president for the Asia region, a role he assumes with immediate effect.
Reichelt (pictured) will operate from Singapore, leveraging his extensive experience in forensic accounting and loss adjusting.
Reichelt's responsibilities include leading Crawford's business across eight Asian territories: Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, Japan, Thailand, the Philippines, and Taiwan. His responsibilities also extend to overseeing Crawford's ventures in Indonesia and India. This strategic position places him at the helm of Crawford's efforts to expand and solidify its presence in these diverse and dynamic markets.
“Scott was an integral part of our business in Asia over a 10-year period between 2010 and 2020; I have watched his star rise, and it's therefore fantastic to welcome him back,” said Andrew Bart, CEO of international operations at Crawford. “He is an ideal balance between being exceptional from a technical perspective, with first-hand understanding of the value of loss adjusting in the claims lifecycle, while at the same time he has a proven track record of creating high performing and well-functioning teams,” he said.
Reichelt's previous roles within Crawford Asia, including leadership positions in forensic accounting services and global technical services, as well as his recent tenure as head of forensic accounting for another global adjusting firm in Singapore, equip him with the necessary insights and experience for this role, the company said.
Reichelt holds a bachelor of business in accounting from the University of Technology Sydney and an MBA from the University of New South Wales Business School.
“The majority of my career has been with Crawford, so this feels like a homecoming in many ways. I look forward to working with the Asia team to further enhance our services and create a culture where we are exceeding client expectations on every claim. I stand for consistent and proficient technical expertise and customer service excellence,” Reichelt said. “To me, Asia has always been a very stimulating part of the world within the insurance sector.”
Reichelt’s return follows the appointment of a new head of marine insurance in the Middle East and new country manager in Hong Kong.
