FWD has announced that group chief financial officer Jon Nielsen is leaving the company to pursue a career opportunity in North America.
Effective Aug. 31, Nielsen will remain with FWD including through its half-year results to ensure a smooth transition. He has been with the company since October 2019, and prior to that spent a lengthy career at AIA, where he held the roles of regional chief financial officer and group chief risk officer, respectively.
FWD said that the group is well-advanced in its international search for Nielsen’s successor. In a news release, CEO Huynh Thanh Phong praised Nielsen for his contributions to the firm and wished him well in his career outside FWD.
“We want to thank Jon for his leadership and wish him well in his future endeavours,” he said. “Jon has steered FWD Group to make the transition from startup mode to the well-established pan-Asian insurance company we are today. Our search process is moving at pace and we aim to announce our new group CFO soon. FWD is in great shape, with a strong and experienced leadership team in place for continuity into the future.”
Elsewhere in the company, FWD has extended its bancassurance deal in Thailand’s Siam Commercial Bank, a partnership that oversees 1.4 million policyholders in the country.
