AXA Insurance Singapore has appointed Sean Goh as managing director of its life strategic business unit.
Goh succeeds Neil Frith, who will relocate to Madrid, Spain for a new role in AXA’s international and new markets (INM) transformation team. According to a statement by the insurer, Frith played a significant role in growing the unit, leading AXA to become the second-largest insurer in investment-linked policies, with the highest growth of assets under management in the market in 2017. A transition period between the two leaders will take place over the coming weeks.
With over 15 years in the insurance industry, Goh has spent the last five with AXA. He worked in Indonesia before relocating to Singapore as head of partnership distribution, overseeing AXA’s partnerships with Singapore Post and many others, as well as driving the strategy for its entry into the niche high net worth segment.
Goh’s previous portfolio will be reorganised among the existing executive committee members, and he will continue to manage the high net worth and direct life portfolios, the company said.
“Sean’s appointment and the reorganisation of portfolios among the members of the executive committee come at an opportune time for AXA Insurance as we evolve the way we operate to continue our growth journey in Singapore,” commented Jean Drouffe, chief executive officer of AXA Insurance Singapore. “I am confident that the changes will position us to better serve our customers and community and partner with our distributors. On behalf of the Singapore team, I would like to thank Neil for his spectacular contributions.”
