AXA Egypt chief executive Gilbert Chahine (pictured) is moving on to assume the top position at AXA Partners.

Chahine, who has been with AXA since 2007, will take on his new CEO responsibilities on June 01. His previous roles include vice president as financial controller for the group’s financial and consolidation reporting. Prior to AXA, Chahine spent time at auditing firm Mazars & Guerard.

“I am delighted to welcome Gilbert Chahine as chief executive officer of AXA Partners, in the AXA Group Innovation Business Unit,” said AXA chief innovation officer Guillaume Borie. “AXA Partners is expected to play a key role in the design and deployment of insurance and associated services required to strengthen the role of insurers.

“We are in fact preparing to accelerate the implementation of the AXA strategy that consists in going from ‘payer to partner’, as we deploy our innovative solutions to the largest number, and mainly in the sector of healthcare, mobility, the collaborative economy, and in support of our SME clients.”

Cited for his contribution in launching the insurer’s business in Egypt, the AXA veteran was described as having pragmatic vision and entrepreneurial spirit – among other things he brings to AXA Partners.

“I am proud to join the AXA Partners teams and am truly enthusiastic at the idea of stepping up to the challenges we will face together,” commented Chahine. “With the strength of its global footprint, robust 2017 earnings, and technological solutions that combine insurance, assistance, and services, AXA Partners is focused on designing a revisited, simplified, and innovative solution to enrich client experience.”
