Gallagher Re has announced the appointment of Julie Gigleux as a senior reinsurance broker within its Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) team.
“We are pleased to welcome Julie Gigleux to our EMEA team,” Gallagher Re wrote in a LinkedIn post. “Julie is part of our senior team serving the French, Belgium and Luxembourg markets as well as the Large and Complex client segment in the broader EMEA region. Her deep expertise in European casualty and client management has provided her with a breadth of experience across segments.”
Prior to joining Gallagher Re, Gigleux worked at Munich Re as a client manager for over two years, beginning in October 2022. In this role, she managed client and broker relationships, conducted market analyses, and developed client strategies within the French market.
Before her tenure at Munich Re, Gigleux spent over six years at New Reinsurance Company Ltd. (NewRe), where she held various positions within the casualty underwriting team. She joined NewRe in 2016 as an assistant casualty underwriter, focusing on UK liability and Greece and Cyprus. She was later promoted to casualty associate underwriter and subsequently casualty underwriter, responsible for France, Benelux, Greece, and Cyprus. In 2021, she advanced to senior casualty underwriter, taking responsibility for non-motor liability accounts placed in the London Market.
During her time at NewRe, Gigleux worked on developing reinsurance business across continental Europe. Over four renewal periods, she focused on improving the balance of the underwriting portfolio by expanding in her designated markets. She also took over responsibilities in the UK liability sector in September 2021 before transitioning to Munich Re in 2022.
Earlier in her career, Gigleux worked as head of communications at 5ème Set and as a financial advisor assistant at La Banque Postale. Her background includes financial advising, client and portfolio management, and underwriting.
