Insurtech firm Tredder has become Tokio Marine HCC’s (TMHCC) program manager for a standalone supplemental insurance product specifically designed for vehicle-based adventurists – those who don’t just like to be in a vehicle, but want to use it to explore the great outdoors.

Backed by a non-admitted insurer, the offering covers extensive vehicle upgrades or modifications, campers, trailers, and personal effects while allowing off-grid enthusiasts to quickly secure coverage.

“Our partnership with Tokio Marine HCC marks a pivotal moment in adventure insurance,” said Tredder chief exeutive David de Jesus. “We’re not just filling a gap; we’re creating a new standard for protecting the passion and investments of the overlanding community.”

The product launch was made possible through the efforts of Tokio Marine’s EPIC (Enhanced Product Innovation Collaboration) unit, which is a joint initiative between TMHCC and Tokio Marine Kiln.

Chris Skarinka, president of the public risk group and EPIC at TMHCC, noted: “Tredder’s vision aligns perfectly with our commitment to innovation and deep expertise in niche, specialty markets.

“This collaboration allows us to tap into a growing market with a team and product that truly understands and serves the adventure community’s unique needs.”

Tredder’s arrival as a program partner comes on the heels of TMHCC International’s appointment of Victoria Fox as marine special risks senior underwriter.

“The launch of the marine special risks offering earlier this year is indicative of the TMHCCI philosophy,” marine special risks head Paul Knighton commented last week. “We are constantly striving to better understand the risks our clients face and develop solutions that truly reflect their needs.

“I am delighted to welcome Victoria to the team. She brings extensive experience and a proven track record in developing new products and wordings. Her expertise will be invaluable as we look to continue to expand our offering and client-focused approach.”
