The charitable arm of risk management solutions company Assurant has donated funds to the Red Cross based in Barcelona.
The Assurant Foundation donated $10,000 to the non-profit to help in the organization’s efforts to fight chronic poverty in the local community.
Assurant Europe president and CEO Andy Morris officially presented the donation to the Red Cross in Barcelona while visiting the non-profit’s headquarters last week.
“I’m delighted to be able to make this donation on behalf of the Assurant Foundation. The Foundation provides assistance to local organizations who are instrumental in improving the lives of those in the communities we serve, and the Red Cross does such important work with so many members of the public,” Morris said.
Morris added that Assurant “believes in helping people to protect what matters most.” To that end, the company’s Foundation commits to efforts such as employee volunteer work and charitable donations.
“We’d like to thank the Assurant Foundation for this donation which will help us to combat poverty and malnutrition. We’re committed to helping people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are, and it would not be possible without contributions like this,” said Spanish Red Cross Catalan branch president Antoni Aguilera.
