Starkweather & Shepley Insurance Brokerage (S&S) has announced the appointment of Randy White Jr. to its loss control and safety team. White will add new dimension to the S&S loss control program by offering clients both safety and industrial hygiene services, S&S said. He will focus on nuisance monitoring as well as environmental monitoring and sampling.
Prior to joining S&S, White served as a health and safety specialist at the Johnson & Johnson DePuy Synthes facility. He has also worked as a carpenter and safety specialist on notable projects including Boston’s Big Dig and the Ted Williams Tunnel.
White also has experience working with biotech companies including Biogen as an Associate III in cell culture and media. He has also worked with Abbott Laboratories and Amgen. He holds a master’s degree in clinical laboratory science and microbiology from the University of Rhode Island.
“As a gatekeeper of the environment, I believe that I can make a monumental contribution through S&S as a loss control specialist by helping to eliminate our clients’ exposure to hazards, which in turn will lead to improvements to our environment for future generations,” White said. “I am excited to have the opportunity to work with our clients and to educate them on the importance of environmental health and safety.”
