Crawford & Company has announced the promotion of Jordan Hall to the position of global data protection officer (DPO), effective Jan. 1, 2025.
The promotion follows the upcoming retirement of David Parker, who will step down in February after more than 38 years with the company. Parker most recently served as privacy director and group data protection officer.
Hall joined Crawford’s global private office in May 2024 as a director. He is currently based in the UK and reports to K Royal, global chief privacy officer and deputy general counsel. Hall brings extensive experience to the role, having previously overseen the implementation of the UK’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for complex organisations and managing data protection issues during significant events, such as COVID-19 and Brexit.
Commenting on Hall’s appointment, Royal expressed her confidence in Hall’s abilities, reflecting on his experience amid those significant challenges.
“The privacy and data protection officers during that time were pulled in many directions, managing laws and requirements that could change quickly, yet they were expected to be the calm in the storm,” Royal said. “I have no doubt that Jordan was and will continue to be a calming influence and steady leader throughout the challenges we face with emerging technology and growing regulatory landscape.”
Speaking on his promotion, Hall said: “It’s an honor to work with professionals like David Parker and K Royal, but also the Crawford teams around the world. Having the support of not only my colleagues but our leaders makes the difference between just doing a job and adding true value to our company.”
