A-G Specialty Insurance, a provider of specialized insurance solutions for educational institutions and sports organizations, has announced the acquisition of First Agency TPA, a Gallagher company known for its student and athletic accident coverage.
Founded in 1959, First Agency is known for providing accident insurance tailored to students and athletes at both interscholastic and intercollegiate levels. The company also offers special-risk insurance for summer camps, sports camps, clinics, and youth sports leagues.
The deal follows A-G’s earlier acquisition of Gallagher’s Bollinger TPA services, which the company says further expanded its presence in these niche markets.
The acquisition also underscores A-G Specialty Insurance’s strategy to enhance its capacity and expertise in third-party administrator (TPA) services.
By integrating the operations of First Agency and Bollinger TPA, the company said that it aims to provide a comprehensive suite of insurance solutions for educational institutions, students, and student-athletes nationwide. With the integration of these services, A-G intends to enhance its capabilities in insurance administration and claims processing.
Dixon Gillis (pictured above), CEO of A-G Specialty Insurance, noted the alignment of First Agency’s mission with that of A-G Specialty Insurance.
“We are thrilled to welcome First Agency's TPA services into our portfolio. Together with the Gallagher Bollinger TPA services we previously acquired, we now offer an unparalleled combination of expertise and resources to support our clients' insurance needs at every level,” Gillis said.
Dan Buckley, managing director of Gallagher Special Risk, emphasized the benefits of the partnership for clients.
"A-G Specialty's reputation for innovation and capabilities in claims processing will continue to deliver strong outcomes our clients have come to expect and rely on,” Buckley said.
The integration of First Agency’s services is expected to maintain continuity for clients, with an emphasis on efficiency and accessibility. A-G said that the expanded operations aim to meet the needs of students, athletes, and educational institutions.
