Hendre Garbers

Hendre Garbers is a Senior Economist in the Group Economic & Sigma Research team at Swiss Re, based in Zurich. In her role, she contributes to formulating the global interest rates and macroeconomic forecasts for the Group and conducts research on a variety of topics relevant for the re/insurance industry. She has also represented Swiss Re in external forums, most recently at events organized by the IIF, OECD, BIS, and NYU Stern. 

Prior to joining Swiss Re in 2021, Hendre worked at the International Monetary Fund in Washington DC. 

She holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Lausanne and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematical Sciences from the University of Stellenbosch.
