Staysure Group chief customer and technology officer Finn Walsh has been promoted to group chief executive, succeeding founder Ryan Howsam.
In its announcement, the travel insurance provider cited Walsh as a key cornerstone in the company’s transition into a new period of automation and digitisation. The former Hastings Direct digital and marketing director brings one and a half decades of digital and e-commerce experience to the top post.
“I’m thrilled to be leading Staysure into this new era of transformation,” Walsh, who also shared the news on LinkedIn, said in an emailed release. “To truly create the insurtech brand of the future, our focus needs to go beyond just customer experience and move to improving the total experience of the company.
“My focus will be on how we deliver an exceptional experience to any customer or employee, with a holistic, tech-enabled, and people-centric approach. In the past year, we’ve delivered the foundations for future growth with our digital transformation strategy, and we’re excited to take the next steps and launch these to our customers.”
For Howsam, having Walsh at the helm “marks a new phase” for the business.
“He will guide the group in meeting our ambitious growth targets, and we’re excited to have him lead us on this journey,” the ex-CEO noted. “Off the back of our most successful year ever, we remain focussed on delivering innovative ways to meet customer demand and service their specialist insurance needs in a way only Staysure can.
“Finn brings so much expertise in delivering tech-enabled dynamic digital experiences, and as we begin the new year, we’re excited to have him at the helm.”
