Seasoned industry executive Vincent Branch has joined XL Catlin’s new expert team focused on innovation and insurtech.
The major insurer has appointed Branch as chief executive of the Accelerate unit, which is also headed by Paul Brand, the former chief underwriting officer for insurance at XL Catlin.
“The team will work across the business, with the business,” Brand said.
“It is charged with harnessing our collective expertise to deliver new solutions and services which ultimately deliver value by giving rise to better outcomes for our clients.”
Branch brings over 20 years of industry experience to XL Catlin. In his previous roles, he implemented a wide range of product and pricing innovations.
Most recently, Branch served as chief underwriting officer and chief actuary at Vitality Health. He was also the former global chief underwriting officer for personal lines at
Zurich.
Brand said of Branch: “The stand out work he has done in the personal lines space looking at how the insurance industry approaches and leverages wearables, telematics and automation, positions him ideally for this role and greatly enhances our play.”
