Insurtech firm VIPR has announced that its chief technology officer, Paul Templar (pictured), has been promoted to chief executive officer, succeeding co-founder Bob Brown who will take on the new role of chairman.
Templar has been with VIPR since it formed in 2009 and moves into the role as the company makes structural changes to support its growth strategy. In his new role, Templar will continue working on product development and client relations but will also take on a strategic focus for VIPR, working closely with chief operation officer Stewart Williams.
VIPR offers a suite of software products for the insurance industry, including coverholder management, quote and bind solutions, and a reporting tool.

“VIPR is growing at such a fast pace in our 10th year, so it was the perfect time to reflect on the company’s infrastructure to make the necessary changes within the team,” said Richard Brown, co-founder & director at VIPR. “Bob and I will continue to manage the business at a strategic and board level.”
“As our client base has grown, Richard and I have recognised the need to strengthen the management team and bring on new talent to support our growth,” said Bob Brown. “Paul has been with us from day one, playing a huge part in shaping the company. He has been pivotal in the development of new products and bringing on new clients, so it was an easy decision for Richard and me to offer him the role.”
“I’m absolutely delighted to be promoted to CEO,” said Templar. “I know I have big shoes to fill, but I am excited by the role and the challenge it will bring. I am looking forward to steering the company forwards and continuing its success.”
