Two Simplitium contractors have now been tapped to join the software house’s workforce.

Dr Matthew Jones, the founding director of consultancy Cat Risk Intelligence, is coming onboard next month after being appointed as head of insurance product development. He has been a contractor at the financial services technology provider since September 2017.

In his new role, Jones will lead the product development of Simplitium’s independent multi-vendor catastrophe risk modelling platform ModEx.

Aiste Kalinauskaite, meanwhile, will be assuming the position of lead insurance product developer for ModEx also starting October 01 after being a contractor from January 2018. Architect of the Open Exposure Data format, she is tasked primarily with streamlining the catastrophe modelling process.

“Matthew and Aiste bring over 30 years of combined industry experience to Simplitium,” commented chief executive John Yonker. “Matthew’s knowledge and expertise combined with Aiste’s unique experience in designing and streamlining catastrophe modelling processes will help us further develop our ModEx solution and bring additional efficiencies to the industry.”

Both Zurich Insurance Group alumni, Jones and Kalinauskaite have also spent time at the likes of St Paul Re and Guy Carpenter, respectively.
