In a Press release, RSA highlighted that his role will see him contribute to the delivery of the insurer’s strategic outperformance objectives, driving the UK&I strategic transformation roadmap and investment profile. In addition, he will head up a team responsible for the roll-out of enterprise-wise future-proofing programmes.
Godfrey will report to Oliver Holden, chief information officer at RSA, UK&I. Commenting on the key hire, Holden emphasised the importance of tech and data in helping RSA become a “more efficient and simpler organisation to do business with”.
“I’m delighted to welcome James to the team, who brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience of delivering multi-year strategic change agendas,” he said. “I’m confident he’ll make a big difference in how we manage the prioritisation, sequencing and delivery of our transformation projects across all portfolios – to ensure our overall strategy outcomes are achieved.”
