“The coronavirus pandemic is going to fundamentally change the way we interact with customers for quite some time, but it won’t stop property claims from happening.”
Those were the words of Qlaims Insurance development director Mike Keating (pictured) when Qlaims Ltd highlighted the benefit of video technology at this time of self-isolation and social distancing.
The company wants loss adjusters, insurers, managing general agents, and brokers with claims delegated authority to leverage its video-streaming platform and keep both customers and staff safe by remotely surveying property damage.
How it works is policyholders are sent a link which guides them to download an app on their smartphones which then establishes a secure video and audio connection with a desk-based professional. According to Qlaims, the video is stored securely in the cloud on UK GDPR-compliant servers and easily linked to an open claims file.
“Technology will help us all to deal with property claims while following government advice on maintaining social distancing,” said Keating, whose camp hopes its offering will help the insurance industry maintain customer service during a very difficult period.
Meanwhile Qlaims would also like to offer free use of the technology to any charity or local organisation.
