Reich Insurance Group has unveiled a new funeral services insurance scheme in partnership with SchemeServe.
Designed to offer cover as an add-on at the point of sale of headstones, the innovative scheme features screens installed at stonemasons across the UK. The policy, which is also available wholesale through partner intermediaries, protects against damage to the headstone as well as third-party liability.
“This was a challenging brief; headstone insurance is sold at a highly emotive and sensitive time for the policyholder,” noted Mark Costello, head of legal schemes at Reich Insurance. “We needed a technology solution that would present the cover simply and sensitively with as little ‘fuss’ as possible while maintaining complete compliance over the sales process.
“It took SchemeServe less than 14 days to get the scheme built and live and it delivers on all fronts. The service and delivery have been exemplary.”
Meanwhile SchemeServe chief operating officer John Price cited the new headstone scheme as “a perfect example” of how they understand the unique needs of different niche schemes.
“It’s a morbid topic for sure, but an interesting project,” commented Price, who described the broker base they work with as ever-diverse. “It’s a very necessary cover that needs a technology solution that also provides a careful and considered approach to sales and marketing.”
