Marsh has appointed Ankur Kacker to the role of UK digital asset leader, as part of the company’s financial & professional (FINPRO) practice, Marsh JLT Specialty.

In his new role, Kacker will be based in London and will report to Marsh JLT Specialty specie practice leader Philip Turner. He will oversee the development of new insurance solutions for digital assets such as cryptocurrency.

Kacker joined Marsh in Mumbai in 2008, and later moved to London in 2017 as part of the UK specie practice where he specialised in digital assets insurance. He has worked with clients across a wide range of industries throughout his 13-year career, including financial institutions and technology organisations.

“Ankur has been the driving force behind many innovations in the highly specialist digital assets insurance market,” said Turner. “Our clients will benefit significantly from Ankur’s knowledge as we continue to develop services and solutions that provide firms with the protection they require, as they increasingly take advantage of the opportunities associated with digital assets.”

“As greater clarity around regulatory issues continues to emerge, organisations across the business spectrum – from large financial institutions to technology providers – are making significant investments to capitalise on opportunities using blockchain technology and digital assets,” commented Kacker.
