While many insurers search for talent outside the business, LV= has decided to promote one of its own.
The UK insurer revealed earlier today that John Chasty will take up the role of chief information officer with immediate effect, having been with the company since 2011.
Chasty was most recently the firm’s operations director but will now take on the leadership and direction of IT strategy for the firm, reporting to the company’s COO Richard Warner and based in Bournemouth.
“I’m delighted to have promoted John into this role,” commented Werner. “Technology continues to change rapidly and now more than ever it’s important that we have the right IT strategy in place to ensure we’re delivering the best results for both our business and customers. Our aim is to be a Digital First company, ensuring that digital platforms are fully integrated with our services, improving the overall efficiency of our services and making our systems easier to run and manage, and I’m confident that John will help us achieve this.”
Chasty outlined his belief that there are significant opportunities in the technological landscape, currently.
“From big data to cyber security, cloud infrastructure, the Internet of Things and everything in between, technology is having a significant impact on the insurance industry and our customers,” he said. “There’s a real opportunity for us to embrace some of the latest technologies, such as robotics and artificial intelligence, to enhance the overall experience for our customers and employees and I look forward to delivering a strategy that will accomplish this.”
