bolttech, an international insurtech that serves customers in 30 markets across North America, Asia, and Europe, has appointed Dr. Jens Schädler as its new CEO for Europe.
Dr. Schädler (pictured) has over 18 years of experience in telecommunications, having been a partner at consultancies Bain & Company and Booz Allen Hamilton in Switzerland.
Most recently, he was bolttech’s head of device protection for Europe and general manager for central Europe, supporting business partners – from international telecommunications operators to manufacturers and retailers in the consumer electronics and medical device industries – to drive profitable growth.
Dr. Schädler was the founder and CEO of i-surance AG, a Europe-based B2B2C digital insurance platform acquired by bolttech in July 2021. Since joining the insurtech, he has been a key member of the executive leadership team, driving strategy and business development across the region.
“Since we welcomed the i-surance team to the bolttech family, Jens has established himself as a valuable leader with a strong depth and breadth of understanding of the industry. His expertise in developing game-changing digital insurance solutions is a major asset to bolttech as we continue to build our embedded insurance capabilities across Europe,” said bolttech group CEO Rob Schimek.
Dr. Schädler takes over from Andrew Cons, effective immediately. As the new CEO for Europe, he will be based in Switzerland and provide strategic leadership across bolttech’s Europe operations to drive new and existing market and partnership growth.
Commenting on his new role, he said: “We have enjoyed much success in Europe with the support of our innovative partners and global teams. Our growth in Europe has been phenomenal as we remain committed to helping our partners meet more of their customers’ needs.
“We are well on track to become the leading insurtech player in embedded insurance in Europe. I am excited to step into this role and, together with our amazing team, drive further success for bolttech in Europe.”
