First Central Insurance & Technology Group now has a new group chief executive following the departure of Simon Walker after about a year in the role.
New boss Michael Lee brings experience from the likes of Hastings Direct where he was managing director of the insurer services division. Lee also co-founded Southern Rock Holdings after spending nearly a decade at Provident Insurance.
“I’ve watched First Central’s growth over the past few years with interest and am excited to be joining the group as it looks to take the next step in its journey,” commented the Chartered Insurer. “First Central’s in an enviable position. Both its size and bespoke technology enable it to adapt with agility to changing market conditions and ensure it can maximise opportunities created.

Commenting on Lee’s arrival, chairman Mike Leonard cited the new CEO’s industry experience as well as his proven track record of delivering strategic success and driving business growth.
Meanwhile First Central, which has a workforce of around 650 people, has promoted Jo McGowan and Zuzana Clark to HR director and operations director, respectively.
