Eaton Gate has joined imarket and will launch its first product, Tradespeople, on the Bravo Digital Trader platform in March.

Run by Polaris UK Ltd on behalf of the insurance market, imarket connects brokers to insurers to digitally trade business. Eaton Gate is the first managing general agent (MGA) to go live on imarket, joining eight insurers using the platform for commercial distribution into broker systems.

Nate Filer, Eaton Gate’s operations director, said that the platform has helped the company expand its distribution footprint, while maintaining full control over their products.

“I’m delighted to see Eaton Gate join imarket and to be able to help them further their digital distribution into the Bravo Networks,” said Simon Bloomfield, head of imarket. “We look forward to working with Eaton Gate, adding more products and supporting them in widening their distribution over the coming months.”

Scott Bennett, managing director of Bravo Networks, said that the move to extend distribution using MGAs also allowed them to provide their members a wider choice of product. Bravo Digital Trader was the fifth broker system to integrate with imarket in April 2024.

Digital trading on the rise

Polaris recently reported that premiums placed through imarket increased by 15% in 2024, reaching £449 million, with 546,449 policies placed. In a February 2024 interview, Polaris managing director Vivek Banga noted the rise of digital trading among insurers and brokers.

“Insurers and brokers are using digital trading more and they’re also using it for trading more complex business,” he said.

Over the past year, other insurance companies have started launching or expanding their digital trading solutions, including Liberty Specialty Markets and Allianz UK.
