Broker Insights, a leading UK data and distribution platform connecting insurance brokers with insurers, has appointed Barbara Miller (pictured left) as head of broker engagement. This is a newly created role designed to strengthen broker relationships and enhance the use of the company’s Vision platform, a news release highlighted.
Miller brings over two decades of experience in financial services and IT sectors, including her work running a sales and marketing business specifically tailored to insurance brokers. Most recently, she served as group head of sales operations for Clear Insurance Management.
In her new position, Miller will focus on helping brokers maximise the benefits of Broker Insights’ Vision platform.
The news release noted Vision allows brokers to improve their placement strategies by aligning opportunities with insurers’ risk appetites, enhancing decision-making and efficiency.
“Broker Insights felt like the perfect fit, at the right time,” said Miller. “Vision’s ability to pinpoint opportunities, aligned with risk appetite, allows people to focus efforts in the right places.”
Peter Scott (pictured right), CEO of Broker Insights, expressed confidence in Miller’s ability to drive engagement at this essential growth phase for the company. “We’re excited to have Barbara, a highly experienced insurance professional, join Broker Insights,” Scott stated.
“Our Vision platform empowers brokers to match client risks with the right insurers. By improving information flow across the insurance value chain, we help brokers and insurers make better decisions and work together more efficiently. Barbara will be instrumental in helping them to get the most out of our technology to drive profitable growth.”
The news release noted the appointment comes as Broker Insights continues to expand. Six years after its launch, the Dundee-based firm employs over 60 staff. In September, it announced that brokers have uploaded £5.5 billion in Gross Written Premium (GWP) to the Vision platform, with projections to reach £6 billion by the end of 2024. This marks significant progress, representing over one-third of the UK commercial insurance market.
