Allianz UK has announced significant investments in its commercial digital trading team, with several key appointments and promotions aimed at enhancing capabilities and strengthening relationships with brokers and customers. The initiative is part of Allianz’s broader strategy to become the preferred partner in the insurance market by improving its digital platforms and expanding its product offerings, a news release highlighted.

Alex Ktenidis, director of digital trading and Allianz Legal Protection (ALP), described the appointments as pivotal to the company’s growth. “These appointments are an injection of talent and fresh perspective into our digital trading teams and they have already created a really strong buzz with our brokers and across Allianz,” he said. “We have implemented a simpler structure with more accountability, attracting top performers from within Allianz and the market, who are laser-focused on making insurance easy so our brokers and customers can concentrate on growing their own businesses.”

Raj Variyar has been named head of digital distribution, bringing over 14 years of experience in insurance and banking. Most recently, she held positions at Aon and Simply Business. She will focus on expanding Allianz’s digital product portfolio and deepening partnerships with brokers and customers.

Emmanuel Peltant brings over 24 years of industry experience, most recently at AXA and Direct Line Group. He has been appointed head of digital pricing, tasked with advancing the company’s pricing sophistication.

Anneke Graham, promoted to head of digital underwriting, will oversee the technical direction of the digital portfolio to drive profitable growth with broker partners. Victoria Ashman, previously regional distribution manager, now serves as head of operations and trading, where she will focus on streamlining digital adoption. Additionally, Steve Wells has been appointed head of strategic initiatives and change, overseeing platform management and transformative projects to optimise digital experiences.

The restructuring also includes promotions for Dan Hill as digital portfolio manager, James Preece as digital data manager, Wendy Johnson as digital delegated authority and schemes manager, and Charlotte Billingham as digital development and propositions lead.

“The team has been working hard this year to respond to broker and customer feedback with significant investments in improved platform capabilities, seamless digital journeys and an extension to our products next year – all of which will benefit brokers in 2025,” said Ktenidis.
