Allianz Insurance has named David Richards as its new director of information technology.
In his new role, Richards will be responsible for the delivery of all the insurer’s IT services and will report to chief operating officer Stephanie Smith.
Prior to joining Allianz, Richards was responsible for the global provision of IT services for MS Amlin as their chief information officer. He had previously led the IT separation and migration programme for Direct Line and a transformation programme for the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. He also spent 11 years at Accenture, the last two as a senior executive.
“David has been doing a fantastic job and I’m delighted to announce his appointment as the director of IT,” said Smith. “Allianz is undergoing huge and exciting changes at the moment and David’s knowledge and experience will be invaluable as we look to 2020 and beyond.”
