There’s an exciting new role for Gemma Burns (pictured) as she makes her return from maternity leave.
Having been with AEGIS London for the past 20 years, Burns is now in the role of head of digital underwriting at the Lloyd’s managing agency – a position she is excited to take on.
“Returning to work after maternity leave into a new role two weeks after lockdown began has been a significant adjustment,” she said. “However, the combination of amazing team spirit, efficient and seamless technology support and a shared ambition to take our digital trading capability to the next level are strong foundations on which to build. I look forward to developing the strengths in the team and building our digital capability further.”
She will now play a key role with the company’s OPAL quote-and-bind platform, which develops digital products and new ways of distributing them across the international market.
“We are thrilled to have Gemma back and welcome her into this new role where her experience will add weight and depth to the team,” said Tom Squires, head of digital trading. “This is an exciting and challenging time for our digital team with a full pipeline of products ready to roll out on to our Opal online quote-and-bind platform. We’re also investigating new distribution channels for our growing portfolio of digital products aimed at the SME market.”
