Already established as one of the largest car insurance providers in the UK,
Admiral is now looking to expand its offering by tying up a deal with mobile phone network giant Vodafone.
The companies have revealed a deal today which will see Vodafone provide the underlying telematics services for Admiral LittleBox – including devices, data management, safety related services and more.
The idea is that by providing Admiral with detailed information on crash situations, Vodafone will be helping the firm boost its claims process. The new system, according to Admiral Insurance head of telematics Gunnar Peters, should result in an increasingly data led customer claims approach.
“Admiral always wants to encourage safer driving and telematics gives us the ability to reward good drivers whilst helping all our customers to become better drivers,” he said. “We are excited by the prospect of having an innovative partnership with Vodafone and we are impressed by what they can offer our customers now and in the future.”
“The advantages of telematics technology is being felt well beyond the car,” added Vodafone’s director of automotive Gion Baker. “We are seeing forward thinking insurance companies like Admiral using it as a digital bridge to their customers allowing them to get closer to them and to better understand their needs. Admiral is one of the leaders in this kind of digital innovation.”
