Digital broker Simply Business has surpassed one million customers. Founded in 2005 in the UK prior to its US expansion, Simply Business has seen its customer base more than double over the past five and a half years.

Simply Business offers insurance solutions for over 1,200 trades and professions, catering to sole traders, microbusinesses, landlords, and small enterprises. Its contact centres are located in Northampton and Atlanta, Georgia.

Recently, the company made a substantial investment in its UK operations, opening a large new office for a team of 400 people. Simply Business also launched a new advertising campaign in the UK titled “Simply The Best.”

In response to cost-of-living challenges, Simply Business has introduced various initiatives to support small businesses across the UK. In 2020, the company launched its Business Boost grant programme during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Now in its fifth year, the programme awards a £25,000 cash grant to one small business annually. To date, Simply Business has received over 75,000 applications and distributed more than £85,000 in grants.

David Summers (pictured), group chief executive at the SME insurance provider, commented: “We’re incredibly proud to offer market-leading simplicity, choice, and value to an audience who are vital to both our economy and communities.

“And that same sense of pride extends to the strong foundations we’ve built, all of which underpin our sustained success – pairing cutting-edge technology with vast product expertise and a 1,000-strong team who continuously find ways to go the extra mile for our customers.”

He added: “Back in 2005, we set out on a mission to change the way small business owners and landlords purchase insurance. Now, with over one million customers and over 35 insurers on our panel, we’re committed to harnessing the power of our unique technology platform to make the insurance experience even simpler, better, and fairer for many more small businesses across the UK and US.”
