Carolyn Callan, whose industry experience includes time at
Swinton and
Towergate, is joining Covéa Insurance to lead its small business and schemes unit.
The key hire replaces Tim Grant, who is moving to a newly created role within Covéa’s commercial lines & high net worth (HNW) team. Grant will focus on innovation and business transformation.
A Swinton veteran, Callan worked at the firm for a decade and was responsible for setting up its commercial division. She was Swinton’s director of commercial insurance prior to moving to Towergate where she was in charge of business development and marketing strategy for the SME (small-and-medium sized enterprises) and advisory broking operation.
“We’re delighted that Carolyn has chosen to join us; she has extensive experience of the broker market and a proven track record of driving profitable growth in small business and e-trading,” commented Simon Cooter, commercial lines and HNW director at Covéa. “Her appointment will enable us to continue to develop our proposition to meet the needs of our brokers.
“We are determined to ensure that our commercial & HNW offering continues to evolve to meet the needs of our customers, needs that are changing at a faster pace than ever. Our priority of excelling in the underwriting and claims service remains central to this, but we believe that a clear focus on how those needs are likely to evolve in the next three to five years is essential in ensuring that we remain an insurer of choice.”
Meanwhile Covéa said Grant’s position complements existing activity taking place across the business. “Tim’s appointment to this new role demonstrates our commitment to evolving and transforming our proposition to meet the needs of our broker partners,” added Cooter.
