AXA Commercial has announced the appointment of Mike Crane (pictured) as director of its SME and specialty division, effective January 2025. Crane will succeed Deepak Soni, who departed the role in August.
A news release highlighted that Crane brings extensive experience in the insurance industry, including over eight years as managing director of LV= Broker. During his tenure, he led transformative initiatives following LV=’s acquisition by Allianz UK and its integration with Legal & General’s general insurance business. Crane has also been described as instrumental in establishing and growing LV=’s presence in the broker market as well as in advancing the company’s digital transformation and technical capabilities.
In addition, Crane held leadership roles at NIG and Aviva. He currently serves as chair of the Motor Insurers’ Bureau.
Jon Walker, CEO of AXA Commercial, expressed confidence in Crane’s ability to contribute to the company’s ongoing focus on digital innovation and customer experience. “Mike’s extensive market knowledge and experience will be a huge asset to the business at a time when we are focusing on improving the customer journey and integrating new technology to meet their needs and demands,” Walker said.
