Allianz Insurance Plc, the British arm of its Munich-headquartered parent, has given its small- and medium-sized enterprises (SME) unit a boost.

Simon Parrish (pictured), who came onboard in 2008 via the insurer’s underwriting graduate programme, has been appointed as underwriting manager for SME & Corporate Partner. He most recently served as commercial motor portfolio manager.

“We have established ourselves as a major player in both SME and corporate partnerships, and I am very pleased to welcome Simon to the team,” commented Helen Bryant, director of SME & Corporate Partner at Allianz Insurance.

“He brings with him a wealth of experience, and his appointment reinforces our commitment to continue to improve and strengthen our SME & Corporate Partner account.”

Aside from leading underwriting, Parrish will be in charge of setting the account’s technical direction as well as driving actions aimed at profitable growth.
