Lockton Re has announced the addition of Andrew Ferrier (pictured above) as senior broker, with this latest appointment key in establishing Lockton Re’s property and casualty business on the West Coast and will be based in San Francisco.

Ferrier brings over three decades of experience in the industry, with a focus on reinsurance broking. His background includes servicing managing general agent (MGA) business, regional insurance carriers, and large national writers.

Prior to joining Lockton Re, Ferrier was managing director at Guy Carpenter, where he handled lines such as excess and surplus (E&S) casualty, commercial property, professional liability, and auto. He also acted as the West Coast liaison for the MGA Programs Practice.

His career also includes leadership positions at JLT Re, where he managed the San Francisco office and led the MGA business for the Western Region, as well as roles at Aon and Aon Benfield.

In his new role, Ferrier will be working to establish Lockton Re’s West Coast operations, building on existing momentum.

Nick Durant, CEO of North America at Lockton Re, said that Ferrier's expertise and client service capabilities align with the firm's ongoing expansion across various business sectors and regions. Ferrier's role is seen as a key component of this growth strategy.

Durant further emphasized that Ferrier’s broad reinsurance experience across various insurance platforms and business lines will be valuable as Lockton Re continues to scale its operations.

Ferrier is the latest addition to Lockton Re’s expanding San Francisco team, joining Peter Robinson and Liz Staggs, who became part of the accident, health, and life business in May.
